Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this here bear horoscope thing. I ain’t no fancy city slicker with all them big words, but I heard folks talkin’ and I got ears, ya know?
So, they say this bear, it’s like one of them signs, ya know, like when you’re born under. Like them city folks with their fancy stars and what not, this here bear, it’s got somethin’ to do with the earth. Down to earth, I reckon, just like us country folk. They say it’s tied to the earth, which makes sense. Bears, they live in the woods, on the ground, right? Ain’t seen no bears flyin’ around in the sky, that’s for sure.
Now, this bear, they say it’s a perfectionist. I had to ask my grandson what that meant, sounded like some kinda fancy doctor. He said it means they want everything just so, neat and tidy. Well, I guess that makes sense, bears are always cleanin’ themselves, lickin’ their paws and all that.
- They say some bears are born in the winter, like that Goose sign they talk about. Cold weather bears, I guess.
- Then there’s the Brown Bear, they say he’s humble. Means he ain’t braggin’ all the time, just gets the job done, like a good farm hand.
- And they got all these spirits and signs, Mudjekeewis and Waboose, sounds like some kinda Indian talk to me. Brown Bear, Raven, Snake, Elk, Owl… a whole zoo of ‘em! Seems like every which way you turn, there’s an animal tellin’ ya somethin’.
They got this thing, they call it a Native American zodiac. Sounds complicated, but it’s just like them city folks’ horoscopes, only with animals instead of stars. And they got all these different tribes, like Cherokee, they got their own way of lookin’ at things.
Now, me, I don’t put too much stock in all this fortune tellin’. But it’s kinda fun to think about, ya know? Like, if you’re born under the bear, maybe you’re strong and protective, like a mama bear with her cubs. Or maybe you like to eat a lot and sleep a lot, just like a bear in the winter.
I heard tell of folks who try to be like their animal sign. Like this fella named Wish, always tryin’ to make things better for folks. My grandson says he’s like one of them Gemini folks, always thinkin’ and talkin’. And then there’s this Sydney girl, smart as a whip, always plannin’ and schemin’. She’s one of them Virgo types, real organized and such. But they ain’t bears, so I don’t reckon it matters much to this here story.
But this bear, he’s different. He’s about bein’ strong, grounded, and maybe a little bit stubborn. Just like an old mule, once a bear sets his mind to somethin’, he ain’t gonna give up easy.
And this talk about luck, they say there ain’t no such thing as bad luck. I ain’t so sure about that, I’ve seen some folks with the worst luck you ever did see. But maybe they’re right, maybe it’s all about how you look at things. Maybe if you believe in yourself, like that Wish fella, you can make your own luck.
So, whether you believe in this bear horoscope or not, it don’t hurt none to think about it. Maybe there’s a little bit of bear in all of us, that strong, silent type, just tryin’ to make our way in the world. And that ain’t such a bad thing, I reckon.
Anyways, that’s all I know about this here bear horoscope. It ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. You take it or leave it, it’s up to you.
