Okay, so, today I tried out this thing called “Hot Topic Tarot”. Sounds cool, right? I’ve always been a bit curious about Tarot but never really got into it, you know? But I saw some buzz about different layouts, or “spreads” as they call them, and I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First off, I didn’t even have any Tarot cards! So, I grabbed a regular deck of playing cards just to get the feel for it. I know, I know, it’s not the same, but hey, gotta start somewhere, am I right?
I found some stuff online about different spreads. There’s this “Three-Card” thing that seemed simple enough. You just lay out three cards, and they’re supposed to represent the past, present, and future.
I shuffled my deck, and I placed three cards face down on the table. Then, I flipped them over one by one.
For the past, I got the five of hearts. For the present, it was the eight of spades. And for the future, I pulled the king of diamonds. What the heck does that mean? No idea!
Then I tried to find some meanings for these. Some people associate them with cups, swords, and coins, or something like that. I tried to look up each card individually but it was quite overwhelming. I think each card has its own meaning in the context of a tarot deck. But I just used a regular deck and I couldn’t really figure out how to interpret it.
I also saw something about a “Celtic Cross” spread. It looked super complicated with like ten cards! I was like, “Yeah, maybe not today.” I also heard of “One-Card Spread,” “Yes or No Spread,” “Love Spread,” and “Fortune Spread.” I was overwhelmed by all these spreads. I think “Three-Card Spread” is enough for me to get started.
Anyway, it was kind of fun. It was like, playing a game with myself. Even though I didn’t really understand what I was doing. Maybe I’ll get some real Tarot cards someday and try to learn the actual meanings.
Here’s what I did, in a nutshell:
- Got curious about Tarot.
- Didn’t have Tarot cards, so I used regular playing cards.
- Tried the “Three-Card” spread for past, present, and future.
- Got confused by the meanings.
- Saw other spreads like the “Celtic Cross” but felt overwhelmed.
- Had fun anyway!
So, that’s my little adventure with Hot Topic Tarot for today. If any of you guys have tried this, let me know! Maybe you can teach me a thing or two.
