I spent some time messing around with this thing called African horoscope. I thought I might as well share my experience here.
So, I got curious about this African astrology thing, because, you know, we all hear about the usual Western astrology. I figured it was worth checking out. First thing I did was find out how it works. Apparently, it’s not like the Western one we all know. This one’s based on some old African stuff like their myths and nature, plus the stars.
There’s this African astrology calculator thing online. You just punch in your birthday, and it tells you your sign. It’s that simple. I found out there are 12 signs, just like the Western one, but these have different meanings tied to African daily life. Stuff like the Baobab, the Judge, or the Ancestor.
What I did next was look up my sign. I found some details about what it means in African culture, what element it’s linked to, and even my supposed “best days.” Pretty cool, right?
Then I dug a bit deeper. Turns out, this whole thing comes from something called Geomancy. It’s this old way of predicting things where they throw bones on the ground, and the way they land tells you stuff. They use this to figure out the 12 signs of the African zodiac.
Here’s what I did step-by-step:
- Found a calculator: First, I searched for an online African astrology calculator.
- Entered my birthdate: Typed in my birthdate to get my sign.
- Read about my sign: I looked up the details of my sign, like its meaning, element, and lucky days.
- Learned about Geomancy: I read about how this whole thing is based on this bone-throwing method.
But, you know, I also found out that some people say this whole astrology thing isn’t really scientific. Like, there was this study in the journal Nature that said these astrologers were no better than chance at predicting stuff. So, take it with a grain of salt, I guess. But it was a fun little dive into something different.
It’s interesting to compare it to the Western stuff, too. We all know about our Sun, Moon, and Rising signs, right? They say those are your “Big Three” and they tell you different things about your personality. This African astrology is another way to look at yourself, I suppose. It might not be scientifically proven, but it was a fun exploration, and that is all about it.
