Alright, so, the other day I got to thinking about tarot cards. You know, those mysterious cards with all the symbols and pictures? I’ve always been curious about them, but also a little hesitant. Are they bad, like some people say? Or is there more to them? I decided to find out for myself, and let me tell you, it was quite a journey.
First, I did what everyone does when they have a question: I googled it. “Are tarot cards bad?” I typed into the search bar. The results were a mixed bag. Some websites screamed about tarot being a tool of the devil, while others talked about it as a way to connect with your intuition. I even stumbled upon an article that mentioned using a regular deck of playing cards to read tarot, which blew my mind a little. I mean if I can do that then I don’t have to buy those expensive tarot cards at the first try. So I closed all other results and focused on this topic.
Next, I decided to dive a little deeper. I borrowed a book on tarot from the library. It explained the history of the cards, the meanings of the different suits, and how to do basic readings. It was a lot to take in, but I found it fascinating. It turns out that tarot has been around for centuries, and it’s been used for everything from divination to playing games. That is really interesting right?
Now, I was ready to try it out for myself. I grabbed a deck of playing cards, shuffled them, and laid them out in a simple three-card spread. The book explained how to interpret the cards based on their position and their relationship to each other. I have to admit, it was a little confusing at first. I did not know how to connect them together to make a reasonable explanation. But I tried to concentrate and opened my mind to every possibility.
As I started to look at the cards, I was surprised by what I saw. The cards didn’t tell me anything specific about the future, but they did seem to reflect my current state of mind. It was like holding up a mirror to my own thoughts and feelings. For example, I drew a card that represented travel, and it reminded me of how much I’ve been wanting to take a trip. It wasn’t a prediction, but rather a reflection of my desires. Then I drew another one which means love, maybe I was thinking of my girlfriend at that time.
After that first reading, I was hooked. I started doing readings for myself regularly, and I even did a few for friends. It’s not about predicting the future, at least not for me. It’s more about gaining insight into myself and the situations in my life. I learned more about myself by using it.
My Thoughts
- Tarot is what you make of it. If you approach it with an open mind and a willingness to learn, it can be a valuable tool for self-discovery.
