Okay, so, it was my birthday last week, and I decided to do something a little different this year. I’ve always been curious about tarot cards, but never really knew much about it, so I decided to do a “birthday spread” tarot reading for myself.
First, I found a quiet spot in my house where I could relax and not be disturbed. I lit a candle and played some chill music to create a nice, calm atmosphere. I took a few deep breaths to get myself centered and focused. I shuffled the deck for a few minutes, trying to clear my mind.
Then, I started thinking about my intentions for the reading. I wanted some insight into the coming year, you know, what kind of energy I might encounter, any challenges, that sort of thing. I didn’t have a specific question, just a general intention to get some guidance.
Then, I spread the cards face down in a fan shape. I closed my eyes for a moment and ran my hand over the cards, trying to pick up on any vibes. When I felt ready, I laid out twelve cards, one for each month of the year, going clockwise in a circle. The first card I put down represented the current month, and the last card was the month right before my next birthday.
After I laid out all the cards, I turned them over one by one, taking my time with each one. I looked at the imagery, the colors, and thought about what the card could mean in the context of that particular month.
- Month 1: I pulled The Magician. I took that as a sign of new beginnings and having the power to manifest my goals. I’m pretty excited to see what this month will bring.
- Month 2: I got The Lovers. That might point to some relationship stuff coming up, maybe even some choices to make in that area.
- Month 3: The Chariot. That card is all about movement and progress. Maybe I’ll finally get going on some things I have been putting off.
- And so on… I went through each card like that, making notes and taking pictures to come back to later.
Honestly, the whole experience was really cool. It gave me a lot to think about and I feel like I have a better sense of what to expect in the year ahead. I don’t know, it was like a new way of looking at things. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday, a nice mix of self-reflection and planning for the future.
I’m definitely going to do this again next year, maybe even make it a new birthday tradition. I definitely recommend giving it a try, even if you’re just a little curious about tarot. It’s a fun and interesting way to check in with yourself and see what the universe might have in store for you.
