Well, Christmas, that big day, you know? And them stars, they got something to say about it, I reckon. It’s all mixed up, like a big ol’ stew. Christmas and astrology, sounds fancy, but it ain’t that hard to understand. Some folks, they call it, uh, zodiac, yeah, that’s the word. Like them signs, you know, Capricorn and Pisces, like the fish. They say them stars up there, they tell you things. Like, if you’re born on Christmas, you’re a…a what’s that goat thing? Capricorn, that’s it.
My old neighbor, she was always going on about this stuff. Said the stars tell ya who ya are. Now, I don’t know about all that, but it’s fun to think about, ain’t it? This Christmas and astrology stuff, it’s like a story, see? And that Santa fella, he’s in it too.

- Eat a lot, sing them songs.
- Them stars, they shining up there all year round.
They say that Santa, he was based on some saint, a good fella, I guess. And this saint, he was a Pisces, like I said, the fish. Now, what’s that got to do with Christmas, you ask? Well, I ain’t sure, but it’s all part of the story. This Pisces, it’s ruled by…uh…two things. Neptune and Jupiter. Sounds like planets, don’t it? Them planets make him jolly, they say, and, well, kinda big around the middle. Like me after too much pie.
And that other one, Neptune, that makes him care about folks. That sounds like a good thing, don’t it? Care about folks, help ’em out. That’s what Christmas is about, ain’t it? Helping folks, being kind. So maybe this astrology stuff, it ain’t so crazy after all.
Now, this Christmas, it’s also about that baby, you know, the one in the story. Born in a barn, they say. And that story, it’s all tied up with this Pisces stuff too. They say some of them symbols, the ones for that baby, they use the fish sign. Ain’t that something? Fish and babies and Christmas, all mixed up. And the baby, they say he was like a Pisces too. Kind and gentle, you know.
So, if you’re born on Christmas, you’re that Capricorn, the goat. But some of them astrology folks, they say you’re something else too. A cusp, they call it. Like you’re on the edge, I guess. Between two things. Like me when I can’t decide between pecan pie and apple pie.
This Capricorn time, it’s from, uh, December 22 to January 19, somewhere in there. So if your birthday’s in there, you’re a goat! Just kidding, just kidding. But that’s what they say. I don’t see no horns on ya, do you?
This christmas and astrology is all about birthday. They say your birthday can show something about you. I don’t know if it’s true. But it is interesting.

I think everybody likes Christmas. It is happy. And everybody is happy no matter what. That is good. But astrology people say some people like it better. They say 7 zodiac are feeling the Christmas spirit. What is spirit? I don’t know. But it sounds good.
Anyways, this whole Christmas and astrology thing, it’s something to think about, ain’t it? While you’re eating your cookies and drinking your cocoa. Them stars up there, they been shining for a long time. Maybe they do know something. Maybe they’re trying to tell us something. Or maybe it’s just a story. But it’s a good story, ain’t it? And stories is what makes Christmas, Christmas, you know?
So, next time you look up at them stars, think about that goat, and that fish, and that jolly old fella in the red suit. And think about that baby, born a long time ago. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll see a little bit of magic up there. And that’s what Christmas is all about, ain’t it? A little bit of magic. And a whole lot of love. And pie. Don’t forget the pie.
