Well, let me tell ya, folks keep askin’ ’bout these oracle things and them tarot cards. Like they’re some kinda magic. What’s the big hootenanny about them, I say? They both cards, right? But some folks swear by one or the other. It’s all a bit much for me.
These tarot cards, they got a whole system, they say. Lots of rules and what not. Pictures on ’em, and each one means somethin’ special. Like a storybook, but you gotta figure out the story yourself. Sounds like a heap of work if you ask me.
Them Tarot Cards…
- They got pictures.
- Lots of ’em.
- Each one means somethin’.
- Gotta learn ’em all.
Now, these oracle cards, they seem a bit more, you know, loosey-goosey. No set rules, really. Just pick one and see what it says. Like readin’ your fortune in the bottom of a teacup, maybe. Might be easier for us simple folk, but I don’t know.
Them Oracle Cards…
- Pick one, any one.
- See what it says.
- No big rule book.
- Easy peasy, maybe?
Some folks, they like that tarot. They say it helps ’em think real deep. Like lookin’ in a mirror, but it’s made of cards. They see themselves and their troubles in them pictures. And then they try to figure it all out. Maybe it works, who knows? Some people think too much about problems. It’s tiring.
Then you got the oracle folks. They just want a little somethin’ to brighten their day. A little pick-me-up. Like a nice pat on the back from the universe. They are happy when they get a happy card. That’s it, no big problem. They don’t make a fuss about it, just a happy day. They say them oracle cards are all sunshine and rainbows. Tarot cards can be a bit gloomy, they say. Talkin’ ’bout bad luck and whatnot. Who needs that? Oracle cards will not tell you that you are going to die. That is good for me.
I heard some folks sayin’ beginnin’ with oracle is easier. ‘Cause you don’t gotta memorize nothin’. Just look at the picture and think about it. Like a baby and their books. But I think you can use oracle even if you are not a beginner. You just pick the one you like best.
So, Oracle or Tarot?
Honestly, it’s all up to you. Like choosin’ between apple pie and peach cobbler. Both are good, just depends on what you’re hankerin’ for. Some folks like the structure of tarot. Keeps ’em in line, I reckon. Other people like oracle and don’t care about any rules. Just pick a card and be happy, that’s their motto.
Me? I reckon I’ll stick to my rockin’ chair and my knitting. Don’t need no fancy cards to tell me what’s what. But if you’re itchin’ to try ’em out, go ahead. Just don’t go gettin’ all tangled up in it. Life’s too short for that, and you should just enjoy your day.
I heard these young people talkin’ about it, sayin’ one is better than the other. They get all riled up about it. Like it’s the most important thing in the world. I don’t think it’s that serious, to be honest. Both are tools, like a hammer or a screwdriver. You use one if it fits your needs. Oracle or tarot, it is just that, a tool.
I remember one time, my neighbor, she got herself a deck of them tarot cards. Spent hours porin’ over ’em. Tried to tell me all about the meanings and such. It went right over my head. But she seemed to enjoy it, so who am I to judge? She is very serious about it. I think she is trying to find out her future. She says it’s in the cards. Maybe she is right, but I don’t think I want to know.
Then there’s my other neighbor, she’s got a whole collection of them oracle decks. Says she likes the pretty pictures and the positive messages. She pulls one out every mornin’, like drawin’ a daily chore. It makes her happy, so that’s good, right? She says it’s better than the newspaper. Nothing good on the news. I think she is right. Maybe I should get some oracle cards, too.
So, there you have it. Oracle vs tarot, it is like apples and oranges, I think. One is not better than the other. It all depends on what you are looking for. Some people want deep thinking, some people want easy answers. They are both fine, I think. But don’t expect any magic, you know. It is just cards, after all. They don’t really know your future. Or maybe they do, but I am too old for this now. You kids have fun with your oracle and tarot.
