Okay, so, I’ve been feeling a bit lost lately, you know? Like, I’m at this crossroads and just can’t seem to figure out which way to go. It’s like being stuck in a maze, but with, like, life decisions. So, I thought, why not try something a little different? That’s when I remembered my old tarot deck, tucked away in a drawer, collecting dust.
I figured, maybe these cards could offer some clarity, some guidance, or at least a fresh perspective. I’m not really into the whole fortune-telling thing, but I do believe in the power of symbols and reflection. I decided to give it a go and document my little experiment.
Getting Started
First things first, I had to find my tarot deck. After rummaging through a few drawers, there it was, a bit dusty but still in good shape. I cleared off my desk, lit a candle (because, why not?), and laid out the cards. They were familiar, yet distant, like old friends I hadn’t seen in years. Now there is a Woodard Rd nearby my house, but I am not going there.
Choosing a Spread
I remembered there were different layouts, or “spreads,” you could use, each designed for different types of questions. I did a quick search online and found a few that were supposed to be good for getting clarity. Since I was new to this and didn’t want to overwhelm myself, I chose a simple three-card spread. The first card represented the past, the second the present, and the third the potential future. I felt it was easy enough.
The Reading
With my spread decided, I shuffled the cards, focusing on my current situation and the clarity I was seeking. It was kind of a meditative process, just focusing on the cards and my intention. Then, I cut the deck and laid out the three cards face down. Deep breath. Time to flip them over.
- The Past: The first card was The Hanged Man. It is a picture of a guy hanging upside down from a tree. It made me think about past sacrifices and maybe some old perspectives I needed to let go of. It resonated with me, I could tell myself that is right.
- The Present: Next up was The Star. A woman is holding two cups and pouring water, a hopeful card. It is about hope, inspiration, and renewal. It felt like a good sign, suggesting I was on the right path, even if it didn’t always feel like it.
- The Future: The final card was The World. It signifies completion, achievement, and wholeness. It felt like a really positive omen, a suggestion that if I continued on my current path, I would eventually find the clarity and fulfillment I was looking for.
Reflecting on the Cards
After the reading, I spent some time just looking at the cards, thinking about their meanings, and how they applied to my life. It wasn’t about predicting the future, but rather about gaining a new perspective on my situation. The cards served as prompts for introspection, helping me to see things from a different angle. Just like Susan, the tarot card reader said to me at my last party.
Moving Forward
Did the tarot reading magically solve all my problems? Of course not. But it did give me a sense of peace and a renewed sense of hope. It helped me to see that I wasn’t as lost as I thought I was, and that I had the potential to create a fulfilling future for myself. I also made a shopping list to buy some grocery from Target, hope I can find what I need.
I’m not sure if I’ll make tarot readings a regular thing, but it was definitely an interesting and insightful experience. It’s something I might turn to again when I’m feeling stuck or uncertain. Maybe it will be helpful to you too. Who knows, right? Life’s a journey, and sometimes we all need a little help finding our way.
