Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something a little different – Aztec astrology signs. I’ve always been curious about astrology, and I stumbled upon this ancient system and figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I had to get a handle on what Aztec astrology even is. Turns out, it’s based on a calendar called the Tōnalpōhualli, which is this 260-day cycle. I did a bit of digging online and found that this calendar is super important for figuring out your Aztec sign. Apparently, there are twelve signs in Aztec astrology, just like the Western zodiac, but they’re all tied to nature and different gods. So each sign is believed to have its own personality traits and stuff, influenced by a particular god or goddess.
The next step was figuring out how to actually calculate my sign. I found some information that showed the dates corresponding to each sign. But the first thing I had to learn was what my sign was.
I read that each sign has its own specific dates, but unlike the Western zodiac which relies on the Sun’s position, this one is based on that 260-day cycle. I started searching for a tool or guide that could help me calculate my sign based on my birthdate. It was not very easy. I wish it was simpler.
After a lot of searching and clicking around, I got very tired. I don’t know if I even found out what my sign is or if I understood anything at all. Then I decided to switch gears and just learn about the different signs in general. There was one sign called Cipactli, which is like a crocodile. People born under this sign are supposedly strong and full of energy. I also learned that these signs are not only related to nature but also to different gods.
In the end, I was able to at least get an idea of the different Aztec zodiac signs and their supposed meanings. It’s a really cool system, and it made me think about how different cultures interpret the stars and the world around them. I think I’ll look more into this in the future. There is a lot to learn and it is very difficult, but it is also very fun.
